Our catering partner is Patricia Sharman and Company who were chosen for their ability to deliver bespoke quality food and service with imagination and integrity.
We fully support Patricia’s use of local and seasonal produce. However, this does not stifle a sense of adventure and her team like to explore the use of exotic and unusual ingredients as part of the multicultural society that we live in.
Patricia is fully supportive of our British producers and farmers and in particular those residing in East Anglia. They need everyone’s support to preserve our heritage and culture.
Her aim is to use the finest quality ingredients that are available.
At Wherstead Park we truly believe that everyone should make time to eat a balanced and healthy meal at least once a day. Patricia’s team do not believe in rushing when cooking, giving the recipe the time it deserves for the best results. We think you should do the same as part of the enjoyment of eating.
Her whole philosophy is to develop and strengthen local partnerships, allowing her to hand-pick the finest quality produce from recognised local producers and suppliers. It also gives her a much greater degree of hands-on control over the whole supply process – coupled with full traceability. It’s all about keeping down the food miles, and helping to build and refresh local economies and communities by encouraging people to produce and purchase food locally.

- All her meat is sourced locally from Revetts in Wickham Market to the award winning Broxtead Butchers at the Suffolk Food Hall in Wherstead, to name but two.
- Fresh fish from Orford and Lowestoft
- Seasonal vegetables are grown at Home Farm, Nacton
- Milk and cream from Marybelle, Saxmundham
- All bread is handmade from the Cake Shop, Woodbridge
- In season, Strawberries from Trimley, picked, delivered and eaten within 24 hours

When Arabella Woodrow arrived in 1986 as the female Master of Wine to the Co-operative, she set to work with commendable dedication, putting the palatable own-label range on the map. More recently she was joined by Paul Bastard, who has since taken over the reigns from Arabella and is responsible for wine development, and believes that the Co-operative’s 450-bin selection has been steadily improving for a decade.
In a significant coup, Co-operative brand wine has gained an international Trophy in the Decanter World Wine Awards 2009 for wine, sold under the ‘eclectic’ range and is one of the highest accolades in the prestigious competition – making Co-operative wine one of the best wines in the world.
